Washburn Institute of Technology Position Openings

"Administrative/Professional" employees are salaried, and as such are considered exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The application procedures for these positions require that you submit a letter of application, resume, copies of official transcript(s), Resume Supplement, and names and phone numbers of three professional references for each vacancy. New vacancies are advertised in the Sunday edition of the Topeka Capital-Journal and, depending upon the type of vacancy, may also be advertised in other newspapers, as well as numerous placement offices and employment organizations.

All University employees who are paid on an hourly basis are considered "Classified." The application procedures for these positions require that you submit a completed Washburn University Application for Employment to the Human Resources Department. Applications are kept on file for 90 days from the date of receipt.  Applicants can request that their Application be copied and submitted for other classified recruitments within that 90 day period by contacting Human Resources.  New vacancies are advertised in the Sunday edition of the Topeka Capital-Journal as well as numerous placement offices and employment organizations.

Bachelor's degree or degree completion in May 2013.  Proven ability to multi-task and handle a variety of assignments.  Commitment to participate in professional activities and organizations related to admissions and enrollment.  Ability to travel for extended periods, to move and/or maneuver materials weighing as much as 30 pounds, and to develop rapport and relationships with a variety of individuals including those from under-represented and diverse student populations.  Flexibility to work irregular hours including some evenings and occasional weekends.
