Vacancy - Instructor/Assistant Professor Criminal Justice

Washburn University's Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the School of Applied Studies.  This is a 9 month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning August 1, 2014. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor requires the terminal degree (Ph.D. or J.D.) at the time of appointment. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in criminal justice OR J.D. degree from an ABA and regionally accredited law school. An ABD will be considered at the rank of instructor with the expectation the terminal degree will be completed.
  • Applicant should have university teaching, service, and scholarly experience.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • University teaching experience in a criminal justice program

Responsibilities:

Instruction of 12 credits per semester in the criminal justice curriculum; academic advising to students; professional, community, and university service; and scholarship.
