Washburn University’s Department of Allied Health in Topeka, KS invites applications for the position of Physical Therapist Assistant Program Director beginning January 1, 2018. This position is a 12-month full-time faculty appointment. Appointment to a non-tenure or tenure track position will depend on qualifications. If hired as non-tenure track, possible conversion to tenure track after three- year review. The responsibilities of this position will include: Administration of the Physical Therapist Assistant program; teaching assigned courses, academic advising to students, holding on-campus office hours at least 3 days per week, maintaining data for CAPTE program accreditation requirements, and service (professional, community, and university). If the position is hired as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, responsibilities will also include scholarly activity. Salary competitive and commensurate with education/experience.
Required Education/Experience: 1) minimum of a master’s degree with current license/certification to practice as a PT in any United States jurisdiction; 2) a minimum of five years (or equivalent), full-time, post licensure experience that includes a minimum of three years (or equivalent) of full-time clinical experience; 3) didactic and/or clinical teaching experience; 4) experience in administration/ management
Preferred qualifications for consideration of tenure-track appointment: 1) DPT or Doctoral degree; 2) Experience in online education or with use of online learning management systems; 3) Experience in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment, including the equivalent of nine credits of coursework in educational foundations
