About some of my other interests...
One of my interests is the interaction between science and religion.
My family and I are active members of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Topeka.
I greatly enjoy reading and thinking broadly, and occasionally writing about that reading and thinking. You can find some of my musings on my blog, "Magnificent Universe." Some of my poetry is also posted here.
Of course, most of my time which is not spent working is spent with my family. I am married and have two great kids. We all enjoy exploring the natural wonders of Kansas, whether along the Kansas River, at Clinton and Perry Lakes, or out at the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve and Konza Prairie. My kids love finding insects, spiders, rocks, etc. and my son knows more about the solar system than a lot of my astronomy students :)
I also enjoy mountain biking and regularly ride trails in northeast Kansas on my Cannondale F4.
