About Washburn University
Washburn University is a liberal-arts college of approximately 7,300 students, situated in the heart of Topeka, the State Capital. In the Music Department, we offer degrees in Music Education, Music Performance, Bachelor of Arts in Music, and several specialized minors, including Jazz Studies.

- Congratulations to Juan Rodriguez for winning a spot in the Honors Rectial. He will perform the Bohme Concerto.
- Congratulations to Jakub Rostik, a freshman trumpet student, he played beautifully at the 2008 National Trumpet Competition in the solo college division! Congrats to Raquel Rodriquez, WU trumpet instructor, who advanced to the finals in the the 19th Century Cornet Historical Division. She performed the Sachse Concertino with the Federal City Brass Band in the Encore Concert, she received runner-up in the competition.
