New Online Faculty Checklist

Faculty interested in teaching a completely online course for the first time should follow these steps:

  1. Print and complete the Additional Compensation Form for Online Instructors, and then submit it to your department chair or academic dean for approval.
  2. Complete the WebCT Training. Check the Faculty Training Sign-up to see when the next WebCT Training sessions will be offered. If no classes are currently offered, or if you need immediate training, please contact a WebTech (webtech@washburn.edu).
  3. Visit the Quality REACHE web site and review the scoring rubric for an excellent guide to designing online courses (http://cite.nwmissouri.edu/qualityreache/).
  4. Contact Dr. Tim Peterson, the Dean of Continuing Education (tim.peterson@washburn.edu) for information about additional resources that may be available for online teaching.
