Next to its faculty, Washburn's most important resource is its library; a great university must have a great library at its heart. In the past, this has meant collections of print materials - published volumes in diverse disciplines, archival materials, comprehensive serial collections, and microform collections. Now, and in the future, it will mean all of these plus the latest technological resources: research databases with Web interfaces, appropriate access mechanisms, innovative programs, and services. As before, libraries will need trained personnel to manage information, space, equipment, and sophisticated systems to ensure preservation and usability of collections for future generations.

In all of this the Friends of Mabee Library play a critical role and serve an increasingly important function by providing steady and dependable support. The generosity of our Friends has enabled the Library to enhance areas that complement the University's academic strengths, enlarge computer information services, and guarantee accessibility to all users.

Be a Friend. Your membership contribution will benefit every student and scholar at Washburn University--today and forever. Your membership also includes the opportunity to attend the Friends' annual meeting and events and to receive Among Friends, the Friends' newsletter.
