These sources provide an overview of a topic, identify key people and concepts, provide historical definitions of educational terms, and often include a list of books and articles on a given topic. They are a good place to begin your research. They are also good for narrowing down a topic. The following encyclopedias and handbooks may be found in the Mabee Library. This is not a comprehensive list of sources, but is intended to be a starting point from which students can begin their research according to their specific needs. You may also want to browse the "L" section of the Mabee Library Reference Collection which contains titles specifically concerned with education.
