Unsuccessful search? Return to the main menu and try the Keyword option. The Keyword option searches more fields of the library record, including the title, subject(s), and summary. This will broaden your search and find additional resources not located using the SUBJECT option.
You may also conduct advanced keyword searches and searches using Boolean operators. Below are some examples:
LIMIT your search to CRC materials (because the catalog contains the holdings of 6 libraries in the Topeka area)
LIMIT your search to nonprint CRC materials, click the Limit/Sort or Modify Search tab,

search the library catalog for the
Keyword: videorecording 4. Children's Magazines - to find articles in children's magazines, search the Children's Magazine Guide for your thematic unit topic or search SIRS Discoverer. 5. Professional Journals - to find articles, search journals in Expanded Academic ASAP (full text), ERIC (some full text), or Education Index. ERIC is also an excellent source for finding thematic units, lesson plans, and curriculum units/guides on various themes. The full text of many ERIC documents may be found at the Mabee Library on microfiche. A library tip sheet is available to assist you in your search. In ERIC, try an advanced search similar to this:
The Kraus Curriculum Development Library also has curriculum units, lesson plans, standards, and frameworks on education-related topics. 6. Materials not in the Mabee or CRC library - to find resources not in the Mabee or CRC library, search the Kansas Library Catalog or WorldCat. If you find a resource that you would like to see but we don't have, we can acquire it for you through Interlibrary Loan or Document Delivery. There is no charge for this service for Washburn students, faculty and staff. You may request books or journal articles using this online form. 7. Textbooks - Look in some of the newer literature-based textbook series. These will be found in the CRC's Textbooks room. 8. Internet lesson plans - http://www.washburn.edu/mabee/crc/education_resources/lesson_plans.html has links to Web sites from which you can save/print lessons. 9. Classworks thematic units - these thematic units can be found at IM 372 C. 10. Macmillan Idea Pacs - these can be found at Kit 371.3 M (on top of the shelf which houses the new books' display). 11. You may also want to browse the TEACHER REFERENCE collection. Here you will find materials about learning centers, bulletin boards, curriculum units, lesson plans, educational standards, games, classroom activities, arts and crafts, etc.
