The University Libraries support learners enrolled in distance education
and online programs offered at
Washburn University. To qualify for distance learner services, a distance learner
is defined as a WU student who resides outside of Shawnee County AND
does not attend classes on the WU main campus.

Assistance
- Retrieval of books, journal articles and other materials from Mabee
Library stacks including check-out and delivery to students' homes via
first-class mail. Distance students are responsible for returning books, including postage.
- Retrieval from other libraries via interlibrary loan of books not held
at Mabee Library for delivery to students' homes via first-class mail. Distance students are responsible for returning books, including postage.
- Retrieval via interlibrary loan of journal articles not held at Mabee
Library including delivery of the articles to students' homes via mail,
e-mail, or fax.

- To search for books and other materials use the Library
Catalog (ATLAS).
The Library Catalog can be used to find out what materials are owned by
the University Libraries and other members of the ATLAS Consortium. It
can be used to locate the call number and bibliographic information (author,
title, publisher, etc.).
- To renew or review the books you currently have checked out, go to Your
Library Record.
- To search for journal, magazine, or newspaper articles, as well as
other library resources, use Find Articles.
- Once you have a citation to an article, you can check the Fulltext
Electronic Journal Holdings to see which electronic database has
the fulltext available. Be sure to check the Library
Catalog (ATLAS) to see if the library has a print version.
When you use a restricted library resource, you will be prompted to enter your WU ID. If you have forgotten your WU ID or do not have a WU ID contact the
Ichabod Service Center at (785) 670-1188.
