Home School

The same application materials are required for home-schooled students. One exception-if your ACT is less than a 24, you must also take the GED and submit your score to the Admissions Office.

Scholarship Notice

Don't forget-fall admissions applications are due by February 15 to qualify for scholarships. Washburn University annually awards approximately $6 million in scholarships to first-time undergraduates. To qualify for most scholarships, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. Freshman academic scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,250, and are awarded based on your highest GPA (weighted or non-weighted) and the highest recorded ACT score received by February 15.

Financial Aid Notice

While you are filling out forms, go to the application for financial aid. The financial aid office has detailed information about available grants, scholarships and loans. You must complete your admission file before you will be eligible to receive financial aid through the University. You can also apply for Federal, State, and Institutional Financial Aid (FAFSA), at fafsa.ed.gov. Finally, you must review your Student Aid Report (SAR), which you will receive within 5 to 7 business days if you apply online. The Office of Financial Aid will use this report to help determine the amount of aid that you receive. Once you've received your award letter, you can check the calendar through the Business Office to determine when aid will be credited to your account.
