Welcome Back!

If you previously attended Washburn as a degree seeking student, there are a few simple steps you will need to take to once again enroll in courses and earn your degree from Washburn University.

1. First things first. What type of student were you when you last attended?

2. Apply for admission. Both the degree seeking and non-degree applications are available online.

3. Check out the schedule of courses being offered. Once our application has been approved, do not wait to register. Preferred times and popular courses will fill up early in the season.

Degree Seeking Student

If when you last attended you were a degree seeking student in good academic standing, there are a couple of items for you to complete to return to Washburn and continue to earn your degree.

  • Complete the admissions application for degree seeking students.
  • Great news! As a returning student you are not required to pay the $20 application fee.
  • Submit to the Admissions Office official transcripts of any college level work completed since you last attended Washburn University.

Unfortunately, because you already attended Washburn once, you are no longer eligible for the new student merit scholarships offered by the Admissions Office.

Degree Seeking Student - Academic Suspension

If when you left Washburn University you were on academic suspension, you need to apply for reinstatement through the Dean of Students.  We recommend you contact the Dean of Students Office, 785-670-2100, at your earliest convenience, to review the re-instatement process with a member of the staff.

Non-Degree Seeking Students

If you want to continue to take courses on a non-degree seeking basis, just complete the Non-degree Admissions application.

If you want to now be considered as a degree seeking student,

  • Complete the Degree Seeking admissions application.
  • Submit to the Admissions Office official transcripts of any college level work completed since you last attended Washburn University.
