Business Scholarships
In recognition of the quality of School of Business programs, many alumni, community leaders, and organizations have given generously to support academic excellence with financial aid. Because of their generosity we are able to offer scholarships to both incoming and current students of Washburn University.
Students are encouraged to submit TWO applications, one for our prestigious Dale Marcoux Leadership scholarship as well as submitting an application based on status and GPA through the links listed below.
To be eligible for a scholarship the following criteria must be met.
For Incoming Freshmen:
- Complete the New Student Scholarship Application no later than February 15th.
- Complete Washburn University Admissions requirements.
- Obtain an ACT score of 23 or higher and a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Enroll in a minimum of 12 hours for both the fall and spring semesters and declare a business major.
Incoming Freshmen who turn in their application by the deadline date may receive a scholarship from the School of Business in the annual amount determined by the following matrix:

For Transfer Students
- Complete the New Student Scholarship Application no later than February 15th.
- Fulfill the Washburn University Admission requirements.
- To be eligible, students must have a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or higher from all schools/universities attended.
- Enroll in a minimum of 12 hours for both the fall and spring semesters and declare a business major.
Awards will be made based on the student’s cumulative GPA.
For Current Students
- Submit a Current Student Scholarship Application no later than February 15th.
- Maintain a cumulative college GPA of 3.25 or higher and;
- Be making progress towards the completion of the BBA degree.
Scholarship awards to current students will be made based on their current status (sophomore, junior, senior) and their cumulative GPA. Those who have higher GPA’s will receive more than those who just meet the minimum. Students must re-apply for a scholarship each year, scholarships are not automatically renewable.
Applications must be submitted by February 15th every year
or students can mail them to: School of Business, 1700 SW College, Topeka, KS 66621.
After submitting the application, students will be given the option to print a copy of the information they submitted for their records. We highly encourage students to keep a copy for their records.
Every student who qualifies for a School of Business scholarship will also qualify for a Washburn University Academic scholarship. Every student who visits Washburn should be given this brochure as part of their new student packet or you may pick one up at the Admissions Office in Morgan room 114.
