Announcing the Eighth Annual Northeast Kansas Total Percussion Camp

Open to campers from 7th-12th grades

Additional Faculty will consist of area percussion directors and WU percussion students
including members of the Washburn Percussion Collective.

MARCHING PERCUSSION instruction will include basic technique, warm ups and cadences. Students will be put in individual drumlines for full line and sectional rehearsals. Their activities will culminate with a performance for parents and friends on Saturday afternoon. The campers' drumline experience will provide them with the tools and information necessary to enhance their school drumline/marching band performance.

Students will perform in Percussion Ensembles, experiencing a variety of musical styles and approaches.

DRUMSET instruction will include jazz, rock, funk and ethnic styles. Interspersed throughout the camp will be hands on clinics on drumset techniques and performance. Campers will receive instruction and written materials they can apply to their school jazz ensemble performance.

ADDITIONAL CLINICS on timpani, keyboard percussion, and accessories will be presented daily.

Fees

Registration fee: $100. 00 (This fee guarantees reservation and is non-refundable)

Registration Deadline: May 1st, 2012.

Total camp fee - $400.00 which includes both room and board. This includes the $100.00 registration fee. (Campers stay in the Living Learning Center)

Please make check to WU Percussion. Registration Forms turned in after May 1, 2012 will be charged a late processing fee of $25. Registration Forms turned in after June 1, 2012, will be charged a late processing fee of $50. Any forms turned in after July 1, 2012 will be accepted at the discretion of the director
