Student Employment
Federal Work-Study Employment (FWS)
A need-based program that provides jobs for undergraduate students with financial need allowing them to earn money to pay educational expenses. Students are awarded a maximum amount to earn during the school year by working up to 10-15 hours per week at the federal minimum wage. Students at Washburn University are paid bi-weekly. (Based on priority deadline of February 15 and availability of funds.) Employment as a student employee is conditioned upon a satisfactory background check which shall include a search of the Kansas Offender Registry.
