Student Employment
Federal Work-Study Employment (FWS)
A need-based program that provides jobs for undergraduate students with financial need allowing them to earn money to pay educational expenses. Students are awarded a maximum of $3250 to earn during the school year. Students work up to 10-15 hours per week at $6.55 per hour (effective July 1, 2008). Students at Washburn University are paid bi-weekly. (Based on priority deadline of February 15 and availability of funds.) Employment as a student employee is conditioned upon a satisfactory background check which shall include a search of the Kansas Offender Registry.
