"Administrative/Professional" employees are salaried, and as such are considered exempt from the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. The application procedures for these positions require that you submit a letter of application, resume, transcript(s), resume supplement, and names and phone numbers of three references for each vacancy. Vacancies are listed each week in the Sunday edition of the Topeka Capital-Journal and depending upon the type of vacancy, may also be advertised in other local papers, as well as numerous placement offices and employment organizations.

Wage and hour employees are considered "Classified." The application procedures for these positions require that you have a completed Washburn University Application for Employment  on file with the Human Resources Department. Surgical Technology Teacher

National certification through NBSTSA as a surgical technologist with no disciplinary action pending.  Professional work experience as a Surgical Technologist.  Ability to work in all clinical sites and areas taught in Surgical Technology.  Ability to move and maneuver equipment and materials weighing as much as 50 pounds; to observe student performance, eye/hand coordination and temperament. 

Work schedule will be 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM on variable weekdays, November 2009 through June 2010.  The position is subject to renewal for the 2010-2011 school term or may develop into a regular, benefit-eligible position if circumstances warrant. 

Employment at Washburn University may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of a background check.  Arrest information will not be considered in the selection process.  The new employee will be required to provide CPR certification, current health and immunization records including recent negative TB test results. 

Clinical experience in a hospital or surgical center and/or Surgical Technology instructional experience within the last three years.  Computer literate.  Teaching experience.

Salary is $25 per hour.
 
Logistics Teacher, Part-time, Temporary

High School diploma or GED equivalent.  2 years' experience in the field of Logistics or Warehouse management.  Computer literacy.

Associate's degree and experience with online education and delivery methods.
