POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT



DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS

 
 

Human Resources is seeking candidates for Director of Admissions.  This position reports to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management.  The successful candidate will possess a willingness and ability to work and succeed outside of a conventional work week that may include frequent travel, weekend and evening hours.  An unwavering commitment to equality and diversity coupled with excellent communication skills, a collegial and collaborative management style, and a dedication to superior customer service are essential to success in this position.  Employment at Washburn University may be conditioned upon satisfactory completion of a background check.  Arrest information is not considered in the selection process. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and other departments, assist in the development of a comprehensive undergraduate enrollment management plan that supports the University's strategic goals.

Reporting to the Executive Director, work with University personnel and external constituencies such as high school counselors and principals and local community members to create and implement differentiated and highly personalized marketing and recruitment plans that take full advantage of available technologies and resourceful personnel to maximize enrollment.

Provide leadership, direction and supervision to empower an energetic and dynamic Admissions staff charged with planning and hosting Admissions events, recruiting students and carrying out other assignments and activities according to marketing and recruitment plans.

Project Admissions costs and expenditures for the coming fiscal year, compile and submit budget requests and recommendations to the Executive Director for approval and inclusion in Enrollment Management budget requests.  Manage current Admissions Office budgets, monitoring and approving expenditures as appropriate and necessary.

Perform other duties as required in support of Enrollment Management and University goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree.  5 years' progressively responsible experience managing a complex higher education recruitment and admissions program.  Superior analytical ability; demonstrated knowledge of targeted marketing, geo-demography, predictive modeling and net tuition revenue; success using integrated technology-based information systems, customer relation management tools and document imaging applications.  Valid driver's license with driving record acceptable to University standards.
