Partnering Opportunities

The Washburn University Leadership Institute welcomes opportunities to create partnerships with organizations across campus and in the community. We are very proud of the relationships we have established and continue to expand upon, including those with the Heartland Visioning Project, United Way, Multiple Sclerosis Society and ROTC. As part of an eight-year partnership with rotary organizations across Kansas, the Institute has also hosted the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA), a week-long leadership development program for high school students.

Partnerships can be project specific in relation to student course requirements. For example, partnerships may involve working with a group change project for LE 300 or an individual internship for LE 400. Student frequently complete the Washburn Transformational Experience (WTE) while working with Leadership Institute partners. The Institute can also lead and/or facilitate partner leadership initiatives, including:

- Individual or team projects that span multiple semesters
- Leadership events or initiatives that encourage campus-wide involvement
- Community leadership development programs

Partnerships with the Leadership Institute are often more strategic, encompassing multiple projects or initiatives similar to those outlined above.
