Leadership Student of the Month - September 2009
Angel Romero
If you want to know what Superman looks like-well here you go! Angel Romero is the super Ichabod. He is a WSGA senator, an RA, a member of the Future Alumni Network, College Republicans, Strategic Planning Committee, Heartland Visioning, University Advisory Committee, Leadership Institute and Mortar Board. I probably left something off his already amazing resume. When you talk to Angel, you know that he is a down to earth guy and wants to get everything out of life.
Angel is an active member in the Leadership Institute at Washburn. His vigorous attitude inspires all to achieve greatness. When you are torn between joining something or not, like the Nike slogan, Angel says "Just Do It!!" "You get what you put in," he said. He is a member of several groups within the Leadership Institute. He believes in diversity and taking advantage of any challenge. In the Leadership Institute, Angel feels he can share goals and frustrations with people going through the same situations. He also feels he has made good resources and a support network that he can rely on and pull inspiration from.
While being so involved, Angel has learned a lot about time management, interpersonal skills with different people and the diversity on campus. Angel is a political science major. He plans to further his education by going to law school. We will soon be saying good-bye to Angel once he graduates this spring, but once an Ichabod always an Ichabod.
"It all comes down to making choices. You get to choose how awesome your WU experience is," Angel said.
