Vice President, Academic Affairs - Robin Bowen
Robin Bowen was named vice president for academic affairs in 2007. Prior to joining Washburn, she was the founding dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Rockhurst University, Kansas City, Mo. She joined the Rockhurst occupational therapy faculty in 1992 and in 1998 was named associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Prior to Rockhurst, Bowen was a member of the faculty at Kansas University Medical Center and Texas Tech University.
She holds a bachelor of science in occupational therapy degree from the University of Kansas, a master of education in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Arkansas and a doctorate of education in higher education from Texas Tech University.
Her professional affiliations and activities include the Council of Graduate Schools and the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. Bowen is a five-time recipient of the American Occupational Therapy Association Service Award and was designated a Fellow in 1997. In 1996, she was presented the Missouri Governor's Excellence in Teaching Award and during her career received several awards for teaching excellence from The University of Kansas and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
