Washburn Student Social Work Association (WSSWA)

Description of organization:

The primary purpose of WSSWA is to promote student involvement, and develop a well-rounded scope of programs and events designed to coordinate academic life with eventual professional practice and to stimulate interest in social work as a viable career. To provide service in Topeka community agencies and programs through appropriate and available means. To cooperate with the Kansas Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, (NASW), its standards, goals and projects, insofar as possible.

Description of organization:

Per Constitution dated November 18, 1999. Article II: Purpose.  The primary purpose of the Washburn University Graduate Social Work Association is to develop a well-rounded scope of programs and events designed to coordinate academic life with eventual professional practice and to stimulate interest in social work as a viable career. 2) To provide service to the Topeka Community agencies and programs through appropriate and available means. 3) To cooperate with the Kansas Chapter if the National Association of Social Workers (N.A.S.W.), its standards, goals, and projects insofar as possible.
