Fall into Fitness




Fall Into Fitness is an incentive program designed to encourage and promote healthy lifestyles via exercise for you and your partner.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Fall Into Fitness is a Student Recreation and Wellness Center incentive program designed to encourage and promote healthy lifestyles via exercise for you and your partner.
  • Fall Into Fitness will take place, September 11th through October 18th
  • Entry deadline is 9:00pm, Monday, September 11th

PROGRAM RULES

  • Teams of two should enter by completing an entry form at the SRWC front desk
  • Each team member will be given a “Fall into Fitness” workout card to be used to track their workouts
  • Each team member performs exercises, a minimum of 30 minutes, 3 times per week, that increase cardiovascular endurance
  • Each team member performs resistance exercises, a minimum of 30 minutes, 1 time per week, that increase strength
  • Each team member performs at least one of the following additional activities each week
    • Cardiovascular Training
    • Strength Training
    • Wellness Activity (choose for the list below)
  • Each team member turns in their weekly activity sheet at the Front Desk of the SRWC every Friday
  • Teams that complete all the program requirements for the week are eligible to win cool prizes!
  • Teams completing weekly challenges will have an additional opportunity to win prizes. For each challenge completed an additional “raffle” ticket will be placed in the drawing.

Cardiovascular Workouts

  • Cardiovascular or sport conditioning activities are activities that elevate your heart-rate to 60%-85% of your maximum heart rate for a minimum of 30 minutes. See the back of your workout card for more information.

Strength Training Workouts

  • Resistance training completed using, bands, weight machines and/or free-weights qualifies as a strength training workout.

“Choice” Activities

  • body composition assessment
  • fitness assessment
  • blood pressure screening
  • participating in SRWC classes or programs
  • check out materials from the SRWC Wellness Resource Center (books, videos, etc.)
  • participation in SRWC group exercise classes or programs

Weekly Challenges

  • Week 1 – Try a new exercise you have never done
  • Week 2 – Attend one group exercise class offered at the SRWC.
  • Week 3 – Participate in the Poker Walk (Sept. 21, 12-2pm)
  • Week 4 – Participate in Blood Pressure Screening (Oct 10, 2-4pm)
  • Week 5 - Cross-train using any 2 or more of the cardio machines.

This special incentive program is based on the Student Recreation and Wellness Center Honor system.
