Employee Wellness
The wellness program for the faculty and staff is designed to promote and support behaviors that enhance total health in all dimensions of wellness.
Letter from the President:
The mission of the Washburn University Employee Wellness Program is to facilitate an environment encouraging faculty and staff to enhance their health. Washburn University has made a substantial investment in this program, but it is really an investment in you. Most of us spend almost as much with our work family as we do with our own family. We are attached to, invested in, and care about each other. Our wish for every member of the Washburn employee family is to be happy and healthy.
Your wellness has direct benefits to Washburn University beyond how much we care about you as a person. Your health and wellness helps our university enjoy a level of energy and drive allowing us to be a culture of achievement and excellence. We want you to be at the top of your game and your health is an essential element.
If you are part of the Wellness Program, we are delighted you want to continue. Recruit a co-worker. If you are new or considering participation, just start. Do what you can to enjoy a better life.

Letter from the Employee Wellness Coordinator:
Welcome to the Washburn University Employee Wellness Program. I am here to support you in living a healthy lifestyle, regardless of where you are in the process.
Wellness is a state of being in which the optimal balance between the mind and body is achieved. As children this balance was natural to us. We slept when we were tired, are when we were hungry, cried when we needed attention and smiled when we felt happy. As we grew, we became conditioned to ignore the signals of imbalance from our bodies and minds. We became accustomed to neglecting our physical, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, intellectual, and occupational needs. The path to recapturing wellness is possible, but now, it takes conscious effort, diligence, and self responsibility.
Oppurtunities available through the Employee Wellness Program are intended to help you balance your mind and body to its fullest potential, but participation is your choice. I encourage you to take control of your wellness today.
