Services provided by the Student Health Center include but not limited to:
  • We now provide PAP exams.  Please call our office to schedule your exam.
  • Allergy injections
  • Care for illnesses or injuries
  • Diagnostic consultation of physical and emotional problems
  • Gynecologic care, including family planning services
  • Health education  
  • IMMUNIZATIONS  :
  • Meningitis Immunizations (Required of all students living on campus). Download forms Here. 
  • Meningitis Notice to all students and parents.
  • Patient assistance program for prescriptions
  • Physical exams (Including Sports, Nursing, Study Abroad & Allied Health)
  • Preventive medicine
  • Referrals to health care providers when necessary (at the student's expense)

FLU CLINICS:

  1. September 20th, Student Union 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  2. September 27th Student Union 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  3. October 6th Law School 9:00 a.m. until Noon.
  4. October 20th Petro 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  5. Flu Shots are 10.00 dollars. Please bring your Washburn I.D.

Help prevent the spread of Influenza:

  1.  Wash hands
  2. Obtain a flu shot.
  3. If you do develop flu-like symptoms seek medical attention promptly.
  4. STAY HOME until you have had no fever for 24 hours and are feeling well.
  5. Symptoms:
  6. Chills
  7. cough & cold symptoms
  8. Fever
  9. Head and body aches
  10. Soaking sweats
  11. Nausea & Diarrhea (not always present)
 
 
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE
Information for student health insurance is available in our office, the Dean of Students Office (Morgan Hall, Room 104). The Student Insurance Brochure and Enrollment Form. Students can also enroll online.
Purchase of the health insurance plan is optional and is not required for visits to the Student Health Center; however, given the potentially astronomical cost of medical care it is strongly recommended. If you have more questions, read our frequently asked questions
 
LOCAL EMERGENCY CARE
 
In the event a student needs to see a doctor and the university physician is unavailable, please contact a family physician or visit one of the following local emergency care centers:
* Medical services at all local emergency care centers is at the student's expense.

All Washburn University students are eligible to visit our office free-of-charge for treatment of illnesses or injuries. Washburn ID required for all visits.
No appointment is necessary.
(Please note, treatment is not available to spouses or children of students.)
