Dr. Kevin Kellim serves as choral director at Washburn University where he conducts the Washburn Choir, Washburn Singers and teaches courses in advanced conducting and private voice. He received his Bachelor of Education degree from Southwest Baptist University, a Master of Music degree from Kansas State Universitym and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Kansas. Under the direction of Dr. Kellim, members of the Washburn Choir toured Europe in 1995, 1998 and 2002 performing concerts. The choir also received an ovation for its solo performance at Carnegie Hall in 2001. In addition, the group performed to enthusiastic audiences throughout South Africa in 2005. Dr. Kellim recently completed his 22nd year as Music Director of the Topeka Festival Singers, a highly select chamber choir of adult singers, performing a wide selection of choral literature ranging from Bach to Broadway. The Singers performed in Europe in 1989 and 1999 and were invited to perform at the American Choral Directors Southwest regional convention. Prior to his doctoral study, Dr. Kelllim was the choral director at Topeka West High School for ten years. He is an active conductor and adjudicator of several honor choirs, festivals, music workshops and camps throughout the country. He is also the Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, Topeka, where he conducts the Chancel Choir.
