Observe
creativity in a colorful spring setting. The community is welcome to observe
artists paint and draw as participants in the inaugural Art en Plein Aire on
Saturday, April 21 on the Washburn University campus. No admission is charged.
Artists high school age through adult will set up across the campus at a variety of locations and the public is welcome to observe the progress of their work. Artwork created at the Plein Aire event will be featured in a special art auction and social event on Nov. 17 at the university. Proceeds from the auction will support a permanent commissioned art piece to recognize the Washburn sesquicentennial celebration. Artists may also submit one work created that day for exhibition at the Mulvane Art Museum Sept. 7, 2012 through Jan. 20, 2013.
The rain date for Plein Aire is April 28. For more information, call (785) 670-1125.
