Washburn Tech open house Saturday

The public is invited to the Discover Washburn Tech Open House, Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Visitors will be able to uncover new opportunities, encounter great paying careers, visit with employers and instructors and more. The general public, those considering a new or different career and needing training, those who have left the military, parents and residents of Northeast Kansas are invited.

KANSASWORKS will present two free seminars on Resume Writing and Tips for a Successful Interview. At 11:00 a.m. Employer Forum for those considering a new career will be held. Veteran’s Affairs staff will be available with military tuition benefit information and KANSASWORKS staff will be available with job seeking services information.

Free child care will be available in Little Learners at Washburn Tech while parents are discovering Washburn Tech. Additionally, visitors will be able to observe students working on the next two Recycled Rides vehicles which will be donated on May 11 and May 18 to area families in need.

Washburn Tech is a 2-year institution where students can obtain relevant technical skills, taught by highly skilled, knowledgeable instructors, that prepare them for the job market. Approximately 90 percent of our graduates go either into jobs related to their training, into the military, or go on to further their education.

Washburn Tech offers 25 technical programs, most of which are about 48 credits in length, in one of five divisions - Construction, Health Care, Transportation, Human Services, and Technology. In addition, short-term continuing education and custom courses are also offered.
