Washburn University Counseling Services receives grants

Washburn University Counseling Services has been awarded two grants.

• A $5,000 grant was received from the Topeka Community Foundation to assist in bringing psychiatric assessments to campus. Topeka Community Foundation is an agency that funds programs and projects that directly and positively assists residents in this community.
• A grant of $1,000 was received from the Women’s Venture Partners of the Washburn Foundation to assist with establishing a bibliotherapy option for students wishing to check out books relevant to their issues.

Washburn Counseling Services are designed to help students cope more effectively with personal concerns that may affect their academic performance.  The primary goal is to assist students in realizing their maximum potential and to assist them toward optimal functioning. Current staff members are: Marilynn Koelliker, LSCSW, Director and Jamie Olsen, LCP, University Counselor.
