Jerry Farley, president of Washburn University, recently was recognized for his outstanding contributions to international scholarship with the presentation of the Gerard Manley Hopkins Award 2012 while at the Gerard Manley Hopkins Society International Festival at Newbridge College, Ireland.
The mission of the Gerard Manley Hopkins Society is to explore and provide a forum for the writings of Hopkins, a Victorian poet, and to promote, foster and encourage cultural and artistic activity in general and poetry in particular.
