Four students attending high schools received awards at the annual Washburn University High School Art Day on Nov. 16.
Award recipients are:
Mason Heiman, first place, sculpture, "Sunflower," Jefferson County North High
Abbie Weishaar, first place, sculpture, "Sunflower," Jefferson County North High
Ally West, first place, ceramic, "Dad and Pug," Jefferson West High
Cole Woodyard, second place, ceramic, "Goblin Candle Holder, Jefferson West High
The works submitted by the students are on exhibit through Nov. 22 at the art building on the Washburn campus.
A total of 150 students from 13 high schools had the opportunity to their talents in photography, paintings, digital imaging and sculpture by attending several of the 41 workshops offered.
