Four students attending Lawrence high schools received awards at the annual Washburn University High School Art Day on Nov. 16.
Award recipients are:
Ryan Luna, best of show (tie), "Decay," digital/photography, Lawrence High
Ashley Hocking, second place, mixed media, "Danaus Plexippus," Lawrence High
Catherine Norwood, second place, photography, "Textured Triptych," Free State High
Hazlett Henderson, third place, photograph, "Suspension," Lawrence High
The works submitted by the students are on exhibit through Nov. 22 at the art building on the Washburn campus.
A total of 150 students from 13 high schools had the opportunity to focus their talents in photography, paintings, digital imaging and sculpture by attending several of the 41 workshops offered.
