Chinese New Year (of the Snake) celebration at Washburn

In celebration of the 2013 Chinese New Year (of the Snake) there are several events planned on the Washburn University campus including a Tea Sampling Party, with a dozen different teas, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 on the main floor lobby, Memorial Union.

Listen to an evening of Chinese music as the Kansas City Chinese Musical Ensemble celebrates with Washburn students to perform from 4 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16 in room 143, Garvey Fine Arts Center.

Experience Chinese cuisine at the Chinese New Year Buffet from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the Washburn Room, Memorial Union. Enjoy Chinese food and festive music. Tickets are $9 per person in advance and may be purchased at the Corner Store or Union Market, located in Memorial Union, or $10 per person at the door.
