2013 Artful Dining Series events to benefit Mulvane Art Museum

The art and the food complement the eclectic settings for the 2013 Artful Dining Series events, designed as fundraising events organized by the Friends of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Proceeds from Artful Dining 2013 events and artwork sales benefit the exhibition and education programs of the Mulvane Art Museum. All costs are underwritten by the event host. The total payment for an event is a tax deductible gift to the Mulvane Art Museum. Thirty percent of the proceeds from the sale of art work also supports the Mulvane Art Museum and is tax deductible.

Events are:

Prairie Sunset, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 13. View a prairie sunset to remember at the home of Greg and Jenny Lee, while enjoying robotic art by Jim Dore, mobiles by Gabe Stoner and Michael Hattan and paintings by Linda Humphries. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Artfully Designed, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27.  Food, fun and interior innovations at BA Designs, highlighted by jewelry of Bailey Marable, fiber arts by Barb Quaney and paintings by Becky Drager. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Mood and Food, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 6. Mexican hors ‘oeuvres, drinks and desserts will be presented by hosts Mark Camacho and Ron Farrell. In addition to the debut of Camacho’s CD “Yesterday, Once More,” there will be jewelry/glass work by Nancy Goodall, mixed media art by Stephanie Munoz-O’Neil and Konza Fire creations by Jim Ginavan. Barbecue in the Flint Hills, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18. Paintings by Kim Casebeer and Zak Barnes and jewelry by Valerie Smith will complement the casual barbecue at the home of Pam and Ken Alexander. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Oh Starry Night at the Top of the Tower, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8. A five-course meal will highlight the starry night of Topeka’s skyline.  There will be ceramics by Glenda Taylor, paintings by Cally Krallman and Joseph Loganbill and glass works by Stacey Utech. Donation:  $80 per person.

Wine and Dine, 6:30 – 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15. The prints of Justin Marable, paintings by Bob Swain and jewelry by Britta McKee will enhance the timbered setting at the home of Neal and Cora Spencer. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.

22 Artful Steps, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 17. Walk up the 22 Artful Steps to the downtown loft apartment of Stephen and Edie Smith for food sculpture, art and photography. Featuring the batik works of Ortud Hauptil, ceramics by Machiko Erhard and paintings by Brad LeDuc. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.

Celebrate the Holiday Season, 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8. Hosts Whitney and Kathy Damron will debut the season of jolly fun, which will feature wood fountains by Rod Furgason, paintings by Phil Epp and photographs and ceramics by Marearl Denning. Donation: $65 per person; $55 for members of the Mulvane Art Museum.
