Exploring the Sunflower State one step at a time: Kansas Day speaker at Washburn

 “A Long and Winding Walk to Wichita” is the topic of an illustrated talk by dedicated pedestrian and author Henry Fortunato at the Washburn University Kansas Day event at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28 in room 112 of Henderson Learning Resources Center on the campus. No admission is charged and the public is welcome.

In October 2012 left his home in Overland Park to go for a walk that ended 240 miles and 13 hours later in Wichita. Fortunato will detail his amazing and amusing adventure which enabled him to experience the landscape with a new and refreshing perspective.

He was named the 2013-14 Simmons Fellow in Public Humanities by the University of Kansas and is director of public affairs at the Kansas City Public Librar
