College bound students and their parents can receive assistance with the financial aid application process at College Goal Sunday 2 to 4 p.m., Feb. 23 in room 100 of the Henderson Learning Resources Center at Washburn University.
College Goal Sunday is a free one-day event at which students and their parents can receive professional, one-on-one assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Families should bring their 2013 income tax forms and/or 2013 W-2 forms, or their 2013 year-end pay stubs and 2012 tax returns. Families who have not completed their 2013 income tax forms can learn valuable information to help them finish filling out the FAFSA at home. Students and their parents should plan to spend approximately one hour at the event.
One $500 scholarship will be given away to student who will be a first-semester freshman in the fall 2014 semester.
The College Goal Sunday program was created by the Indiana Student Financial Aid Association with funding from Lilly Endowment, Inc., and with supplemental support from the Lumina Foundation for Education. College Goal Sunday is a program of YMCA of the USA.
