Finalists selected in Nall Speak Off at Washburn University

Six Washburn University students have been selected as finalists in the Nall Speak Off which is sponsored by the communication department.  Each semester, the top one to three students are selected from each public speaking course at Washburn to represent their respective classes in the competition.

Finalists for the competition, their hometown, topic and placement were:

  • First place: Eric Preister, Topeka, “Wind Power”
  • Second place: Yaofang Xiao, Fujian, China, “The Bermuda Triangle”
  • Third place: Shujing Zhou, Shanghai, China, “Gestures”
  • Fourth place: Charlotte Munoz, Topeka, “Anxiety Disorder”
  • Fifth place: Danielle Snell, Topeka, “Special Olympics”
  • Sixth place: Olivia Evans, McLouth, “Raising Cattle”
