The Washburn University Department of Music is bringing two Broadway stars to Washburn for a special concert on April 17. The Broadway in the Heartland concert will feature Jeff Kready – a 2005 Washburn alum -- and current star of the 2014 Tony winner for best musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. Kready will be joined by his wife, the very talented Nikki Renée Daniels, who is the female lead in the Book of Mormon which won the 2011 Tony for best musical.
The pair will present a number of Broadway selections accompanied by a small musical combo, according to Music Department Chair, Dr. Ann Marie Snook.
“Both Jeff and Nikki are phenomenal performers,” Snook said, “and this is going to be a fantastic show – one which you won’t want to miss.”
The concert is being held as a fundraiser for the Washburn University Music Department and will take place in the White Concert Hall on the campus. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show will be available to the general public beginning Thursday, February 26.
“We expect this show to sell out very quickly,” Snook said, “so you’ll want to go to our website today and get your tickets.”
Tickets for the event are available at https://givetowashburn.org/broadway.
