Welcome to Washburn University
Online Education!
Washburn University offers a variety of online education courses that
provide greater convenience than most traditional campus courses. Nevertheless,
online education courses are based upon the same academic standards and
requirements as traditional courses and may, in fact, require more time
or effort than regular classes. These courses require a high level of
motivation and self-discipline.
Washburn University is proud to offer online courses for both degree
completion and certificate programs.
These courses require that you have access to the Web to interact with
the faculty and access the course materials. Some courses also require
periodic campus or interactive television (ITV) class sessions or proctored
examinations. In some cases, classes are restricted to students who have
declared a major in the subject area or students who have been admitted
to a 2+2 PLAN degree program.
Washburn University belongs to KC REACHE, an alliance of Kansas City area
colleges and universities. KC REACHE colleges provide awareness of
distance learning degree programs and student services tailored for
distance students. KC REACHE reciprocal agreements exist for library,
career, and testing services. Visit KC REACHE to find out how
you can take advantage of these, and other, privileges!
Virtual (that is, online) courses are designated by a "V" or "VA" section
code in the Washburn Available Course List. Online courses that also include ITV class sessions
are coded "M" (mixed media). Online graduate courses that are
cross-listed with undergraduate online courses may not have the "V"
or "M" designations.
