I. Degree Requirements
- Completion of an Associate Degree in an allied health field from one of the partner community colleges. Non-partner community college students are reviewed on an individual basis for eligibility.
- A minimum of 60 semester credit hours from a four year college or university.
- A minimum of 45 semester credit hours of upper division courses.
- A minimum of 30 semester credit hours from Washburn University.
- Completion of all General Education, University Requirements and Prerequisite coursework.
- A minimum of 124 total semester credit hours.
| II. Medical Imaging Requirements AL 320 - Human Disease Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Graduates of this program utilize high frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to produce images of organs and systems of the body in a non-invasive and painless way to identify the presence or absence of disease. There are three areas of concentration which lead to a certificate in either Cardiac, Vascular, or General Sonography. Students may choose to complete more that one certificate option. Radiation Therapy: Graduates of this imaging specialty program provide therapeutic radiation treatments to cancer patients. Radiation Therapists may also be involved in simulation, dosimetry, and treatment planning. To be eligible for admission, a candidate must be a graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program and possess the professional designation of RT(R).
