Dr. Cheryl Childers
Associate Professor of Sociology

Dr. Childers received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Sociology from Texas
Woman's University, and her B.A. degree in Sociology and Business
Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Before
returning to academia in the early 1990s, she spent 15 years in the
corporate sector. She has been a member of Washburn University's faculty
since 1996. Dr. Childers teaches classes in social problems,
organizations, methods of research, and race/ethnic relations. Her
research interests revolve around race, class, and gender issues in
education, health, work, and disasters.
