Reinhild
Janzen is Assistant
Professor of Art. Before coming to Washburn in 1996, she
was Curator of Cultural History at Bethel College's Kauffman
Museum and has worked with many issues in the whole field
of Mennonite material culture of the Plains. She has both
published a book and articles and curated a major exhibition
on Mennonite furniture. She has been President of both the
Kansas Museums Association and the Historical Warkentin House
in Newton, and was active in getting the WPA public scupture The
Mennonite Settler on the National Register of Historic
Places. A current research project focuses on Mennonite visual
arts, especially in relationship to Mennonite worship spaces.
