

He joined the Washburn English Department in 1961 and was its creative writing program director for the next fifteen years. He organized Headwaters - the Topeka writers' group based at Washburn - in the late '60s and supervised the pubication of the first Inscape, which came out near the time of his death in 1976. The Bob Woodley Memorial Press was incorporated in his memory in 1980.
