COMPUTER SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS (pdf)MAGNETIC RESONANCE CERTIFICATIONThe MR Certificate Program is designed to assist technologists or registry-eligible technologists in meeting the criteria for post-primary certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). According to ARRT guidelines candidates for magnetic resonance certification must hold a current registration in radiography, radiation therapy, sonography or nuclear medicine. Sonography registration may be through either the ARRT or ARDMS. Nuclear medicine registration may be held with either the ARRT or NMTCB. Current content specifications for the ARRT examination in magnetic resonance (implemented January 2006) are presented:
In addition to current professional registration (discussed above), the ARRT also requires all candidates for certification to document satisfactory performance of a minimum number of repetitions of clinical procedures. The clinical performance must be completed within the 24-month period (or less) immediately before submitting the application for certification. See www.arrt.org for more specific information involving eligibility requirements.
