Educational Foundation
Trustees Contributions
The Delta Gamma Educational
Foundation of Topeka, Inc., is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) tax
exempt organization. The Foundation was organized in 1966 as a way
to raise funds to rebuild Alpha Kappa Chapter house after it was
destroyed by a tornado.
The objectives and purposes
of the Foundation are to foster, encourage and promote the pursuit
of higher education at Washburn University by young women matriculating
or desiring to matriculate at Washburn and are in need of financial
assistance.
From its contributions,
the Foundation generates income in two ways: earnings from interest
bearing accounts, i.e. certificates of deposit and money market
accounts, and interest earned from loans given to Alpha Kappa House
Corporation Board.
The Foundation grants
all earned interest to further its educational purpose. Money is
given to Washburn University to award scholarships, and when needed,
spent on educational purchases, i.e. computers and study aids for
Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Gamma.
Donations to the Foundation
are welcome and encouraged. All contributions are tax deductible
and benefit Washburn University women.
