Day 1,
Friday, Oct. 31 – Depart Kansas City
Meet at the Washburn campus and board the motorcoach for the Kansas
City International Airport for your early afternoon flight to Casablanca,
Morocco. Fly from Kansas City to Chicago on United Airlines and Chicago
to Paris on an overnight flight on Air France.
Day 2,
Saturday, Nov. 1 – Arrive Casablanca (D)
Catch your connecting flight to Casablanca on Air France for an afternoon
arrival at Casablanca’s Mohamed V International Airport. Check-in
to your hotel, Royal Mansour Hotel, and have dinner later that evening.
Overnight in Casablanca. Meals provided: dinner
Day 3,
Sunday, Nov. 2 - Casablanca / Rabat (B,D)
After breakfast, your tour of Casablanca showcases the many faces
of Morocco’s largest city, its contemporary urban elements as
well as the rich legacy of its French colonial past. Continue to your
hotel, La Rabat Hotel, and enjoy an afternoon at leisure before dinner.

Day 4,
Monday, Nov. 3 - Rabat / Moulay Idriss / Volubilis / Meknes / Fèz
(B, D)
Sightseeing in Rabat, the “Imperial Garden City”, includes
the Kasbah of Oudayas, built on a cliff overlooking the ocean, and
the beautiful Hassan Tower. Travel through the sacred Islamic town
of Moulay Idriss and tour the 3rd century B.C. Roman ruins of Volubilis.
Visit Meknes, an ancient imperial city, before continuing to Fèz
and checking in to your hotel, Zalagh Parc Hotel. Overnight in Fèz.

Day 5,
Tuesday, Nov. 4 – Fèz (B, D)
Fèz is the oldest of Morocco’s ancient imperial cities,
with a classic Moorish skyline of graceful minarets and green tile
roofs set against a picturesque backdrop of rolling hills. Your full
day tour includes the medieval Medina, the Medersas – educational
institutions that date to the reign of the Sultans, the Karaouine
Mosque and University – the oldest in the world – and
the beautiful, elaborately-tiled Nejjarine Fountain. In the afternoon
visit the famous souks, or markets of Fèz, an excellent place
to shop for leather, rugs and beautiful ceramic ware and the invitation
to join shopkeepers for tea all create an evocative experience. Overnight
in Fèz. Meals provided: breakfast and dinner
Day 6,
Wednesday, Nov. 5 - Fèz / Marrakech (B,L, D)
Travel through the scenic beauty of Morocco’s Middle-Atlas Mountains,
passing through Ifrane, a charming mountain village, and Immouzer,
a friendly Berber town surrounded by rugged gorges and wooded hills.
Arrive in Beni Mellal, a bustling highland town nestled between the
Middle and High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy a lunch of Moroccan specialties
and then continue to Marrakech where you check-in to your hotel, the
Royal Mirage. Overnight in Marrakech. Meals provided: breakfast, lunch
and dinner
Day 7,
Thursday, Nov. 6 – Marrakech (B, L)
Enjoy a full day touring the ancient city of Marrakech. Founded 800
years ago by the Almoravides Dynasty, Marrakech is located in the
heart of beautiful pine groves surrounded by dramatic snow-capped
mountain peaks. This morning, explore the bustling souks and lively
Djemaa El Fna Square. Following lunch, visit the lavishly decorated
Saadian Tombs and the Dar Si Said Museum – a collection of Moroccan
art exhibited in an exquisite palace. Just outside the city, tour
the expansive Menara Gardens, created in the 12th century during the
reign of the Almohads. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque and Bahia Palace,
elaborately decorated with painted woodwork, ornate carvings and glazed
ceramic tile. In the evening, an optional Fantasia Moroccan Dinner
and Folklore Show is available for $65. Overnight in Marrakech. Meals
provided: breakfast and lunch
Day 8,
Friday, Nov. 7 - Marrakech / Casablanca (B, D)
Enjoy a morning at leisure to shop or explore on your own before returning
to Casablanca for dinner and an overnight stay at the Royal Mansour
Hotel. Overnight in Casablanca. Meals provided: breakfast and dinner
Day 9,
Saturday, Nov. 8 - Casablanca / Return Home (B)
After breakfast, depart from your hotel for Casablanca’s Mohamed
V Airport. Check in at the Air France ticket counter for your flight
home. Meals provided: breakfast
Upon arrival in Kansas
City, a private motorcoach will meet and take you to the Washburn
University campus in Topeka.
