fairs, electronic (internet) job searching, hidden job market, networking,
researching organizations, salary information and negotiation, employment

liberal arts job search, qualifications & skills needed in the
workplace, and information about the services we provide to job
seekers.
Substitute
In Class (SIC) Program - Need a "SIC"
Day? This program brings Career Services into the classroom when
the faculty member is unable to teach, due to professional and/or
personal issues. Career Services will speak to your class about
career-related issues during your absence. The presentations are
designed to match the academic discipline of the course, fulfill
the needs of the students, and/or meet your requested needs. To

Student
Organization Presentations - Career
Services is available to speak to the more than 90 student organizations
and clubs on our campus. Our presentations can be tailored to your
groups needs. These are a few of the groups to which we have presented:
Accounting Society, Interfraternity Council, Marketing & Sales
Association, Panhellenic Council, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Student Alumni
Association, and the Student Nurses of Washburn. Please contact

or Staff Meetings - Career Services
enjoys interacting with the faculty and staff. For the most effective
use of time, we are available to speak during faculty and staff

Visits - Career Services visits employers
in their workplace. We discuss their labor force needs, qualifications
& skills for employment, and university/employer relations.

Luncheons - When recruiters come to
campus for on-campus
interviewing, we schedule a lunch with them in the Memorial
Student Union. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss employment
issues, market your students/programs, and network with the employer.

Information Sessions - Some employers
schedule information sessions prior to the day of their on-campus
interview. These information sessions allow employers the opportunity

Education Job Search - We offer services
to WU faculty and staff seeking employment. We can be utlized as
a resource for your job search. Our resource library includes a
publication entitled "The Higher Education Job Search - A Guide
for Prospective Faculty Members" which may be borrowed. In
