Education: PhD. in Counseling and Educational
                   Psychology, University of Kansas, 1974
                   M.A. in Psychology, University of Kansas, 1968
                   B.S. in Psychology, Oklahoma State University, 1966

Dr. Vest has been a counselor at Washburn University since 1970.  His area of expertise is working with students coping with anxiety, procrastinating behavior, and low self-esteem.  His teaching experience is in Psychology, Health, Physical Education, Dance, Philosophy, Interdisciplinary Studies, and many Continuing Education classes.

In the area of testing experience, Dr. Vest administers several national standardized examinations (ACT, LSAT, GRE, MCAT, etc.), individual aptitude, vocational interest and personality scales which are designed to help students determine a choice of major and career path.  He also assists with correspondence testing. 

Hobbies & Interests:  mountain touring, stamp collecting, writing articles in sport psychology, working with athletes in amateur wrestling, judo, and Olympic-style weightlifing.
