Lori Spurgeon, M.S.Ed.                  
Academic Advisor/ Center for Undergraduate Studies and Programs                         

Education:   M.S.Ed., Higher Education Administration, University of Kansas
                       BBA, Bachelor of Business, Pittsburg State University

 Lori Spurgeon joined the Washburn  University staff as an academic 
 advisor.   She advises students who have not yet chosen a major and  
 those who are admitted conditionally or on academic probation.  She 
 also assists with the annual Majors Fair and is a representative on 
 Staff Council.  Lori teaches a course called "The College Experience"
 &which prepares students to successfully accept the challenges of 
 attending the university. 

 Before coming to Washburn, Lori advised business majors at the 
 University of Kansas.  At Pittsburg State University, she coordinated 
 programming in Student Support Services.

 A native Sunflower gal, Lori has received her education in the state of 
 Kansas.  She received an Associate degree from Independence Community 
 College, a Bachelor of Business from Pittsburg State University, and a 
 Master's degree in Education in Higher Education Administration from the 
 University of Kansas. 

 Pictured here you see one of her most exciting hobbies:  a German 
 Shepherd dog.
