ORGANIZATION
REGISTRATION CHECKLIST
The Office of Student
Activities and Greek Life is pleased to offer student organization registration
online. The following checklist will help you gather the necessary information
before you begin the registration process.
Please
print this checklist and answer each question before proceeding to register
your student organization online.
You will need to answer
the following questions:
- Have you read how to
completely register a student organization at Washburn? If not, please read
about the registration process.
- Is your organization
"Sponsored" or "Non-Sponsored?"
(What does this mean?)
- What is the name of your
organization? (Remember, "non-sponsored" organizations may not use
"Washburn University" in the name of the organization, as well as
the university logo and/or official seal.)
- Does your organization
refer to itself by another name? If so, what is it? (For example, "WSGA"
refers to the "Washburn Student Government Association.")
- What are the Washburn
e-mail addresses for the organization's president, treasurer and campus advisor?
(Note: Our office no longer accepts other types of e-mail addresses, such
as Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc.)
- What are the postal mail
(or "snail mail") addresses for the organization's president, treasurer
and campus advisor?
- What are the telephone
numbers for the organization's president, treasurer and campus advisor?
- Does your organization
maintain a Web site? If not, would you like to apply for space on the Washburn
server?
- Specifically, what day,
time and location does your organization meet? What are your meeting dates
for the upcoming semester?
- In one or two sentences,
what is the purpose of your organization?
- Does your organization
charge membership dues? If so, how much are the dues? Are dues charged annually or by semester?
- Does your organization
have a constitution? If so, please submit the most current version. If
not,
please download the sample
constitution (Word format) and submit it with your completed Student
Organization Registration Form. All student organizations must submit
a constitution in order to complete the registration process.
After you have completed
this checklist, return to this page and proceed to online registration below.
