Student Organization Registration Form


For New and Returning Student Organizations in 2009 - 2010

We are pleased to offer student organization registration online! It's simple, fun and efficient!

Here's how it works:

  1. Complete the fields below and press the "submit" button ONLY ONCE (all fields are required).
  2. Once the confirmation page is displayed, print it and acquire the appropriate signatures.
  3. Attach a new (or updated) copy of your organization's constitution to the Student Organization Registration Form.
  4. Attach a membership roster name and Washburn Identification Number (WIN).
  5. Return the Student Organization Registration Form and your organization's constitution to the Student Activities and Greek Life office, which is located in the lower level of the Memorial Union.
  6. That's it!

Sponsored
Sponsored organizations must directly contribute to the educational mission of a specific academic or administrative department at Washburn. Organizations that fall under this classification must submit an additional form signed by its faculty advisor and its sponsoring department's chairperson, director or dean.
Sponsored organizations are allowed to use the Washburn University name, initials, logo or official seal as part of their official name. In addition, there is no minimum number of students required to start the organization.
     
  • Club Sport organizationsengage in athletic competitions with non-Washburn organizations outside the Washburn Student Recreation and Wellness Center intramural program. Club sport organizations meet the same requirements as sponsored organizations. Club sports engage in activities that can be rigorous, and injuries can occur. The intramural and club sport safety committee reviews these organizations annually. The safety committee is composed of the Director of Student Activities & Greek Life, Athletic Director, Physical Education Department Chairperson, Facilities Services Safety Specialist, WSGA President, and the Dean of Students as chairperson. To ensure the safety of the participants, every year the Safety Committee wil review the club sports operational documentation to see what activities, steps or programs each club sport is involved with.
  Non-Sponsored
Organizations that are not identified with a specific academic or administrative department at Washburn. Non-sponsored organizations may not use the Washburn University name, initials, logo, or official seal as part of the official name of the organization.
  Law School Only
An organization of students enrolled in the Washburn University School of Law. This is not for undergraduate/graduate student membership.
  Departmental & Professional
Have an affiliation with a University academic department or are focused toward future professional endeavors
Honorary
Focuses on scholastic achievements
Mutual Interest
Focuses on a special interest held by a group of students
Recreational/Sport Clubs
Focus on sports beyond the intramural level and in sports not a part of the intercollegiate athletic program
Religious
Have an affiliation with a denomination. Many have centers located off-campus
Residence Halls
Have an affiliation with the residence halls or residential living
Greek
Have an affiliation with local or national Greek-letter social-service organizations
Student Life
Have an affiliation with the area of Student Life
